More than just functional structures, the renewed kiosks and their surrounding square have become active social nodes — places where people meet, linger, and interact. Designed as points of everyday life, they host shops, services, and spontaneous encounters, reinforcing the local fabric and supporting micro-economies.
By reconnecting with the rhythms of the neighborhood, these small structures contribute to a larger network of shared public life.
The transformation also speaks to a broader sustainability vision through the reuse of materials. Existing elements were retained and adapted wherever possible, while reclaimed and locally sourced materials gave new substance and character to the kiosks. This approach not only minimized waste and embodied carbon but also preserved traces of the past, weaving them into a renewed urban identity that respects both place and resources.
Natural light plays a central role in the transformation of the 6 kiosks. The carefully redesigned structures now allow daylight to flood their interiors through generous openings and translucent materials.
This subtle yet impactful use of light not only enhances spatial quality but also creates a sense of openness and safety, making the kiosks more welcoming throughout the day.
At night, the soft glow from within turns them into inviting beacons in the urban landscape.
